Dubai Police’s Giath SUV Is The Most Advanced Patrol Car In The World

The Dubai Police is a constant source of outlandish police vehicles. From the Bugatti Veyron to the Hoverbike S3 2019, their garage has everything an enthusiast could ever dream of driving or riding.

Despite that, the police department with the most eclectic mix of wheels in the world still manages to surprise us. The latest addition to their fleet is the mean-looking Giath patrol vehicle equipped with artificial intelligence systems, such as facial recognition, among other things.

Dubai’s law enforcement agency describes the Giath as “one of the most advanced police vehicles in the world.”

That’s because it brims with technology designed to keep the city safe. For example, Giath can recognize vehicles tracked by Dubai Police. It also packs a sophisticated communication system linking directly to the Command Operations Room.

The dashboard is full of touchscreens, including in the front passenger area. This allows one officer to focus on driving while the other operates the onboard systems. There is little information about the vehicle, but we do know the 4×4 patrol car is built by W Motors, maker of the Lykan Hypersport. Safe City Group, an Abu Dhabi-based computer security company, supplies the sophisticated onboard systems.

Design-wise, the Giath SUV certainly looks intimidating and features suicide doors — an unusual choice for a police vehicle. As a result, the exterior design makes it rather difficult to realize what the donor vehicle for the Giath is.

However, the interior does offer two clear clues. The huge transmission stalk mounted on the steering column and the steering wheel obviously come from the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban. This, along with the generous length of the cargo compartment, suggests that the Giath might be based on the Suburban.

H/T to Abdul!

These two angles are sublime. If Chevrolet were to take inspiration from this for a facelift Tahoe & Suburban in the future (with the flush door handles) they should.

As for these two angles being absolutely beautiful in my eyes,.. these are the only two angles that are beautiful in my eyes. As for the rest of the vehicle…. (*sigh). Almost,. Almost.

The rear is ugly, but the front does put fear on people though. Yea, i agree, those two angles look good.

oh man I was like damn that is a nice suv, than I saw the back, did the designer get drunk as he or she was almost done designing this?

I still don’t know what it does. It has screens?
