Cement Truck Driver Forgets To Engage Parking Brake, It Rolls Away And Causes Mayhem

If you thought you had a bad day at work, it’s highly unlikely that you had it worse than this guy who caused thousands of dollars worth of damage after apparently forgetting to engage the parking brake on a cement truck.

The incident occurred back in August, but recently gained attention on Reddit. In the clip, a cyclist is heading towards a T-junction when a cement truck appears from out of nowhere and crashes into a brick wall.

Seconds later, you can see someone in a yellow safety vest chasing after the truck as it continues rolling down the hill. The truck eventually crashes into another brick wall before hitting a hatchback and coming to a stop shortly afterwards.

According to the Worcester News, the cement truck was parked on Rose Bank Road when the driver got out of the vehicle. The truck then started rolling down the hill where it crossed London Road and made its way onto Camp Hill Road. This is where most of the destruction took place, as the report says the truck hit five walls, two parked cars and a street light.

The damage was reportedly spread over a 492 foot (150 meter) area and residents were obviously surprised by the destruction. Thankfully no one was injured.

This is the far from the first time someone left their vehicle without making sure they had engaged the parking brake. One of the more embarrassing incidents was caused by a deputy from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio. In that case, the deputy pulled someone over and had to chase after their patrol car started to roll away.

Technically it wasn’t parked if they didn’t put it in park…

  • Well, you got the cement. Now put those bricks back up.

This guy should give back his driving license.
The park brake is the first thing you learn before driving a truck.
If you leave the truck always put the park brake. Even if it’s for 5 seconds!

Minor accident. Trains do it better!

    example BHP iron ore train.

“The fully-laden train, pulling 268 wagons of iron ore, was travelling from Newman to Port Hedland when the driver got out to inspect a wagon near Hester siding at 4:40am on Monday.

While the driver was out of the cabin, the train took off, travelling more than 90 kilometres in 50 minutes.”

You should have seen the mess when it was deliberately derailed.
