Infiniti QX Inspiration NAIAS Concept Previews New Electric Crossover

Infiniti will unveil a brand new concept vehicle dubbed QX Inspiration at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

According to the Japanese automaker, this concept serves as a preview for upcoming high-performance, high-range electrified vehicles, while also signaling a new era in terms of design. As you can see, the QX Inspiration boasts a sharp and futuristic exterior with a high shoulder line.

Conventional features go out the window

We can also spot cameras instead of wing mirrors, which is a clear indicator as to where we’re heading when it comes to future cars – in time, we suspect most if not all automakers will adopt this solution, not just the likes of Audi or Infiniti.

By developing new EV platforms, Infiniti will aim for their vehicles to feature spacious, lounge-like interiors. Such is the case for the QX Inspiration concept, as its cabin was hand-crafted using traditional techniques and multiple materials inspired by what the automaker calls “a subtle Japanese sensuality”.

Meanwhile, overall interior ambiance and technology follows the Japanese hospitality principle of “omotenashi”, creating a “welcoming environment while assisting drivers and connecting occupants to the world around them.”

“QX Inspiration is the beginning of a new era for Infiniti and an illustration of where we want to go with the brand,” stated the automaker in an official press release. “New technology has given us the opportunity to evolve our design philosophy – and the new vehicle communicates the serene strength at our core.”

The QX Inspiration concept will debut on January 14th, 11:40 AM EST in Detroit.

  • Dennis James

Looks like in a few years there we will say goodbye to lateral windows. Small lateral windows are just a cover for bad exterior design.

  • Rocket

Give it a realistic greenhouse and I think you’re on to something, Infiniti.

  • Six_Tymes

    Strikingly beautiful

  • Meskley

Am i going crazy or is Infiniti’s design language slowly morphing into Lexus’?

  • MarketAndChurch

It looks really good from the front. It looks average from the side, almost reminding me of the previous generation. Overall, a nice design but needs more greenhouse and less body.

    • YOU GOTTA GET ON YOUR TOES TO LOOK OUT THE WINDOW.

    • Nordschleife

      The previous generation of what?

      • MarketAndChurch

So sorry, I meant the previous generation Kia Sorento. At least from the side profile.

  • NOT BAD LOOKING, THOUGH THE BELT LINE IS A LITTLE TOO HIGH.

    • Ronald Roman

      A little?

  • Dennis Scipio

It’s not a bad looking concept design.

  • Сафиуллина-Мохамед Рамазанов

It will be like a new gen. FX

    • Leconte Dave

      Fx = QX70

      • Сафиуллина-Мохамед Рамазанов

QX70 is just renamed FX with V8 ditching, what I mean a successor to the FX with the hp and handling but with different power source it’s side lines just scream FX

You won’t have to worry about getting that first, painful side dent; it already comes with it!
