In order to celebrate the Discovery nameplate turning 30 years old, Land Rover has launched an Anniversary Edition model aimed exclusively at UK buyers and priced at £59,995 ($77,400).

The SUV is equipped with 22-inch wheels, a fixed panoramic glass roof, privacy glass and a 380W Meridian sound system. Customers can then choose between following four metallic paints, namely Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Loire Blue or Indus Silver.

“The Discovery family represents the pinnacle of versatility, and we are proud to celebrate that lineage. Discovery has evolved in its 30-year history to consistently bring technology, capability and relevance to the ever-changing motoring community,” said JLR UK exec Rawdon Glover. “We have added extra value for our customers with the 30th Anniversary Edition, making what is regarded as the ‘Best Large SUV’ on sale today, even better.”

Land Rover is also quick to point out that the Discovery is a tool of choice for renowned global explorers and is also widely deployed for search and rescue operations, plus police and humanitarian initiatives around the world. Recently, a custom Discovery was commissioned as a Red Cross emergency mobile command center working with disaster response teams.

In entry-level spec, the Discovery is priced from £47,405 ($61,164) and is powered by a 2.0-liter SI4 petrol engine with 300 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. In a straight line, it will accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.3 seconds and max out at 125 mph (201 km/h).
