LS V8-Swapped Porsche 944 Is A Drifting, Rubber-Burning Christmas Tree

LS-swapped performance cars may have become all too common, but there are some worthy of our attention. Like this heavily modified Porsche 944, for instance.

We haven’t been provided with heaps of details about the V8-powered front-engine Porsche, but we do know it’s turbocharged and features a lot of power. In fact, it features more than enough grunt to spin up the rear wheels at the slightest touch of the throttle, as you can see in the video that follows.

Eager to show what this Frankencar of a 944 is capable of, the owner engaged in burnouts, powerslides, and donuts. Which should have been enough to attract the attention of bystanders even without all those Christams lights splayed across the Porsche’s bodywork.

Cramming the massive LS V8 into a Porsche 911 is very difficult and expensive. However, unlike the 911, the 944 is front-engined and has a nose long enough to support a V8. Of course, there’s always the issue whether one should “spoil” such a cool sports car with an engine swap; we bet that many Porschephiles will consider it sacrilege, but hey, at the end of the day it’s his car and he can do whatever he wants with it and damn the purists.
