The Japanese automaker’s brand new motorsports livery takes after the Subaru World Rally Team cars of the 1990s and 2000s, boasting a star cluster graphic to go with the blue and gold theme.

Subaru is also revising the structure of its U.S. racing activities, where stage rallying, rallycross, record attempts, off-road racing and circuit racing will all take place under the banner of Subaru Motorsports.

“These colors are part of our brand’s history, and beloved by our enthusiasts,” stated Subaru of America marketing VP, Alan Bethke. “For a generation of rally fans, Subaru is synonymous with blue cars, gold wheels and the iconic star cluster. This new design pays tribute to that heritage, while looking ahead to future success under the Subaru Motorsports name.”

The new design will debut on January 14 in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show. Fans and visitors alike will be able to admire the WR Blue Pearl base color with gold-painted wheels, as well as the bright yellow graphics package, with the Subaru star cluster on the doors and the prominent sweep that extends to the B-pillars and roof.

Meanwhile, the red Subaru Tecnica International (STI) logo can be found on the front side intakes, rear wing endplates and trunklid vent panel.

Subaru Motorsports will put this new livery to work at Missouri’s Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, March 15-16, while at the same time launching its 2019 ARA title defense.
