The time has come for the original Ford Mustang to have a proper official Lego set.

Sure, the toy company has been offering a 1968 Mustang Fastback as part of the Speed Champions lineup but that 183-piece set pales in comparison with the new 1,471-piece set from Lego Creator.

You can now build your own 1960s Mustang Fastback in much greater detail combining a dark-blue bodywork adorned with the iconic white racing stripes, bonnet scoop, printed Mustang grille badge, GT emblems, and five-spoke rims with beefy tires.

It’s a remarkably authentic replica that has been developed with input from Ford and comes of optional add-ons for customization. Those include a bonnet-piercing supercharger, front chin spoiler, rear ducktail spoiler, fat exhaust pipes, a selection of license plates, and even a nitrous oxide tank! Furthermore, you can even adjust the lift of the rear axle to achieve a meaner stance.

This 1960s Mustang set comes with additional anti-boredom features such as the possibility to remove the roof panel, open the doors, store items in the trunk, or lift the hood to take a look at the big block 390 V8 engine reproduced in great detail along with the battery, hoses, and air filter. The cabin features working steering, two-tone seats, a mid-console gearshift, and a radio, among other things.

The Lego Creator set is recommended for ages 16+ but we’re pretty confident the buyers’ median age will be at least double that. If you want to make room in your collection for the Lego Mustang you should know it’s 340 mm (13.3 in) long, 140 mm (5.5 in wide), and 100 mm (3.9 in) high.

The classic Mustang replica goes on sale on March 1 from $149.99 in the United States, £119.99 in the UK, and €129.99 in Germany.
