2019 Geneva Motor Show A-To-Z New And Concept Car Debuts (Day 3)

The Geneva International Motor Show may be hosted at one of the smallest venues in the international auto show scene, but the Palexpo Arena, located right next to the Swiss city’s international airport, packs the strongest punch in the industry with well over 200 debuts expected this year.

While other global shows have seen a disturbing number of manufacturers jumping ship, only a few major players will be absent from the motoring extravaganza in Switzerland, namely Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar-Land Rover and Volvo, though the latter’s Polestar sibling will be there with a world premiere.

For 2019, the Swiss show opens with the press and trade days on March 5-6, before welcoming the public on March 7-17.

  • Nordschleife

I guess all I really want to see is the Taycan and that’s if it actually shows.

    • exeptor

I agree, but also an Agera successor will be great. I’m also curious about the Aurus – what’s the presence, level of luxury, quality of build, etc.

  • charlotteharry57

As expected, for those of us in the US, there’s VERY little here of interest (Mazda SUV excepted). I’ll have to force myself to stay away from these sites during the week of March 5. YAWN!

  • Ben

I was really hoping for an F variant of the LC500, but looking at their current sales, I wouldn’t hold my breath on seeing that anytime soon.

    • Merc1

It’s coming, but the Japanese will only debut a car like that at home. So look for it at the Tokyo show this fall.

  • R55

First and only time I have been to Geneva Motor Show in person was 2015. (One of the/If not) First appearances of:

    Ford Focus RS mk3
    Ford GT
    Honda Type R Fk2
    Ferrari 488 GTB
    Aston Martin Vulcan
    Koenigsegg Regera
    Mclaren P1 GTR
    Mclaren 675LT
    Mercedes AMG GT3 race car

I dont see that being topped for a long time.

  • carlbolt

Looking forward to the Golf VIII

  • NoMan2015

You have the GLC listed twice, once with (NC). The picture suggests this is the GLC Coupe but the text doesn’t indicate that…

    • JohnCarscoop

Cheers – fixed it, both are expected this year, but only the regular GLC has so far been confirmed for Geneva.

  • Leo76

Polestar is coming as separate marque instead of Volvo

  • gonzalo diez

Arcfox showcar with Walter de Silva design.

  • rover10

Those companies that decide to not to exhibit, deny customers the chance to do a broad comparison under one roof, even if they don’t have a new product to reveal. From a PR standpoint it tantermount to two fingers to the motoring community and an indirect arrogance.

    • DGC

They (Ford) needs to rid their CEO!

  • Christian
  • Naxiop

    Where’s Ferrari?

  • NoMan2015

You’ve got the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster listed twice, once as NC.

    So where gone VW Golf?…
