700 HP BMW M5 Competition Does A 10.24-Second Quarter Mile Run

There’s no doubt the M5 Competition is quick. Just how quick? Well, one example recently set an incredible 10.24-second quarter mile time at the Palm Beach International Raceway’s drag strip.

Mind you, the M5 Competition featured in the video below isn’t stock, as it features a JB4 Piggy Back Tune and a modified stock airbox which reportedly increases grunt to 700 HP.

When the M5 Competition leaves the factory, its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out 616 hp, enough to power the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 3.3 seconds. In stock form, it runs the quarter mile in roughly 11 seconds. Depending on the conditions and the driver, it can be a little quicker or a little slower.

Not only does the super sedan feature a remarkably powerful engine, it also comes standard with an advanced all-wheel drive system that provides immense amounts of traction no matter the road surface. Proof, if any was needed, is that it needs a mere 10.8 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 124 mph (200 km/h). Still pretty fast to
