Nissan 350Z, Mazda RX-8 Crash While Leaving Cars And Coffee Event

Many people frequent cars and coffee events to hang out with fellow petrolheads, talk about their favorite subject and, why not, display their rides.

We do not know if it’s something of a tradition to do a burnout, drift, or any other kind of showing-off when leaving, though. Probably not, but many seem to feel the need to do so and, quite frequently, it all ends up in tears.

These two clips were filmed at a recent cars and coffee event in Scottsdale, Arizona. The first shows the driver of a bright green Nissan 350Z trying to kick out the tail of his sports car while surrounded by other vehicles.

Shortly after crossing through an intersection filled with spectators, the 350Z driver appears to slam down a gear and starts swerving, seemingly in an attempt to light up the rear tires. However, he soon losses control and almost slams into a Chrysler Crossfire and Hyundai Genesis Coupe driving next him. It’s hard to tell from the footage, but the Nissan driver may have been fortunate enough to escape without damaging his sports car too much.

As for the second clip, it shows the driver of a red Mazda RX-8 quickly performing a U-turn at a set of traffic lights. The driver proceeds to punch the throttle as he makes the turn and before he even has the time to correct his steering, the RX-8 flicks back the other way and slides straight into a curb, almost taking with it a number of pedestrians.

Sometimes it pays to be safe rather than sorry – and pulling such antics in a crowded place is definitely not safe, so why endanger yourself and others? If you wanna have fun, find an empty space or, even better, go to a track. Public roads, especially when others are around, are not for showing off your (real or imaginary) driving skills.

What a couple of crappy videos. But there were some nice rides caught at a glance

  • ErnieB

Ricers gone wild.. not one mustang got hurt in the filming of these videos? something doesn’t add up here..

  • no25

There are always those people that try to flex after a car meet. Lmao. It’s just stupid tbh

  • ksegg

I didn’t realize we’re still in 2005. People are still doing C&C and crashing their cars post event?

    • Carl Sloan

What made you think this went away?

      • Jay

I guess they ignored the mustang crashes at c&c articles all together.

  • Jason Miller

People that do this should be forced to drive a FWD car for the rest of their lives. They clearly can’t handle RWD.

    • Carl Sloan

It’s doubtful they could handle FWD either.

  • Carl Sloan

    Douche bags.

  • Loquacious Borborygmus

Invest in a professional driving course instead of pissing it on some mods to a car that you cannot control.

    • Bo Hanan

Were either of them even going 15 MPH?

      • Loquacious Borborygmus

Are you meaning that is no cause for advance training of a car with performance or that it shows how incompetent they were?

        • Bo Hanan

The Rx-8 driver made a u-turn, accelerated, spun, crashed- and all with a measly 165 lb. ft. of torque. It doesn’t get anymore incompetent than that.

          • Loquacious Borborygmus

            Ah, I see!

  • GobbleUp

Never understood why anyone would waste time taking pics and videos at events. Much better quality already available from mfgr or press.

    • Bill Nguyen

Just for their own personal memories and sharing, I guess.

    • S3XY

Same. Never seen anyone just be in the moment without their stupid phone. Except Jay Leno. And myself
