When stopped at a traffic light, it’s easy to let your guard down as you wait patiently to get moving again. Relaxing too much isn’t a smart idea, however, as the driver of a VW Jetta recently discovered.

We found this video on Reddit and it shows a red Jetta rear-ending a Ford pickup truck in an incident which could have been easily avoided.

The video kicks off by showing a lady crossing the road the moment the traffic light turns green, blocking the cars at the light. She can be seen slowly jogging forward to try and get out of the road. The Ford pickup sees her start to cross and puts on the brakes to let her pass. However, the driver of the VW Jetta directly behind the pickup doesn’t seem to notice either the lady crossing the road, which is understandable, nor the pickup truck’s brake lights (which is not) and hits the gas, slamming directly into the Ford and almost pushing it into the pedestrian.

Watching the VW rear-end the Ford makes us think that the former’s driver wasn’t really paying attention to what was happening right in front of him. Thus the Jetta hit the Ford with a relatively large thump, much to the surprise of the cammer who had a pretty hilarious reaction.

We imagine the VW driver was left red-faced after their little blunder and, hopefully, they’ll learn from their mistake and pay attention at all times when behind the wheels.
