Cristiano Ronaldo Is Reportedly The Owner Of Bugatti’s One-Of-One La Voiture Noir

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show back in March, the one-of-one Bugatti La Voiture Noire immediately became the world’s most expensive new car, with a price tag of nearly $19 million.

Initially, it was thought that former VW Group chairman Ferdinand Piech was the hypercar’s secret buyer, but a recent report by Spanish outlet Marca claims that the lucky owner is none other than soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Even if that’s the case, CR7 will still have to wait until 2021 for Bugatti to finish building the La Voiture Noire.

“It’s not the final car. We only started working on the project half a year ago, when the customer agreed to our project proposal, we started building it. The car will be delivered only in two to two and a half years,” stated Bugatti communications boss Tim Bravo, while admitting that the Geneva car “didn’t have an interior design yet.”

The La Voiture Noire is a modern homage to the Type 57 SC Atlantic, and is said to be powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, good for 1,500 PS (1,479 HP) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque, just like the Chiron.

If Ronaldo does turn out to be this car’s owner two years from now, then the one-of-one Bugatti should fit right in with the rest of his ultra-expensive car collection. The Juventus star bought a Veyron Grand Sport after Portugal won the European Cup, and is known to also own a Chiron, among many other exotic rides.

I Guess a couple of paychecks are enough for him to afford this..

  • Six_Tymes

nice to know a good person owns it. It certainty is amazing looking

  • Kaisuke971

He is sort of close to the brand since he did have an « advert », if we can call it that, with the Chiron so i guess it could make sense ? But i’ll believe it when i see it still.

  • Shobin Drogan

i just noticed the entire grille on the back is fake

    • Kaisuke971

The whole car is fake, seriously. This is just a shell powered by an electric motor, the brakes aren’t even brakes the calipers rotate with the wheels

Did you even read the article?

      It’s a 1:1 scale model.

        My bad

    • Stephen G

If the “grille” is fake then it’s not a grille.

Another item for the MORE MONEY THAN BRAINS list.. Fake or not, this is one FUGLY car and anyone spending 19 million on a car is MENTALLY DEFICIENT!

    • ErnieB

It’s an investment at this point.. it’s not about the car but about getting a one of that can potentially be worth double in a short period of time..

      • Aeromann

Yes, and an other mentally deficient will buy it for 38 million. 😂😂😂

    • Dude

      Sir this is a Wendy’s…

Also someone able to even make such an investment in something that will only gain value is definitely smarter than someone yelling about how bad of a purchase it is.

  • Ben

I doubt he would pay full price. Its in Bugatti’s best interest to give such a bespoke vehicle to someone of public interest rather than an obscure billionaire. Its not like Bugatti are going under if they knock $5-14 million off the price tag.

    • Dude

True but I feel like I saw an article somewhere that said artificial price inflation like that illegal. It’s not like anyone gets caught for such a thing but they’ressupposed be selling it at the listed price (and I’m sure he can afford it)

  • Bash

Not sure if it’s considered advertising or what exactly But I’m sure he can afford it. And they can afford giving him discount.

Amazing, almost has that classic British look.
