2021 Jaguar F-Type Coupe And Convertible Pounce On The Nordschleife

Jaguar’s new 2021 F-Type sports car has entered its public testing phase, getting spotted recently by our spy photographers while lapping the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Right off the bat, we can begin by forgetting those rumors that suggested the next F-Type would become a 2+2 model. These images are pretty clear as far as the car’s overall dimensions are concerned and there definitely doesn’t seem to be any room for backseat passengers.

Vantage point

The upcoming Jaguar F-Type will clearly feature a more streamlined design language, utilizing thin horizontal headlights (instead of the current car’s vertical, swept-back ones) and a large grille upfront, almost reminiscent of the Aston Martin Vantage.

We could say that it’s a somewhat subtle look, but we won’t know that for a fact until the camouflage actually comes off and we can see the front fascia undisguised.

The rest of the body is rather recognizable as an F-Type, especially if we consider the rear end, which looks almost the same as it does now, only a bit more modern. The taillight graphics point to this being a Jaguar from a mile away.

The prototypes spotted here clearly feature different specs. For starters, we have both the Coupe as well as the Convertible undergoing testing, where with the Coupes, one car features quad exhaust pipes at the rear, whereas the other has a single large central exhaust. It’s safe to say that the 2021 F-Type will not be going fully-electric, at least not exclusively.

As for what we can expect from the interior, Jaguar’s latest infotainment tech is a given, along with updated materials and improved active safety.

The British sports car maker will launch the new F-Type either in 2021 or sometime next year as a 2021 model.

  • roy

    Damn

  • StrangerGP

Not a fan of what I’m seeing here in the front. Let’s hope it won’t beas ugly as in the new Vantage.

    • MarkoS

Wow. The Vantage is gorgeous although not a Jaguar .

  • homemark

More boring totally forgettable cars from Jaguar.

  • Fulvio Martinbianco

    A Little TT-ish

  • Mikestroh

Seems like they can’t detach themselves from Aston Martin Influenced Exterior styling……Hmm

    • MarkoS

      Not really, do some history.

  • So the car was beautiful, and now they put the 8-series lights on it… Well that will make the old one hold its price.

  • baofe

I love how everyone has their opinions already formed about this car and it’s not even out yet! Still under camo!. People need to chill out. Have some patience before you rule out/ judge a product.

  • OH GOD NO… those new headlights might look ok, but it will kill the face, personnality of the car.

  • MarkoS

Wow! That is quite the refresh. Mite as well be new. I say keep a good platform 10 years with updates to it and the styling like this.

  • enthusia

Okay honestly, I never thought the F-type was anywhere near gorgeous, or at least not as much as everyone hyped it up to be, but this looks to be very promising. Even under the camo I can tell its gonna be sleek.

  • Rani

I’m getting Audi R8 vibes from the front, still looks promising. Current one still a beaut.

  • Six_Tymes

Looks good so far, and very happy to see they are keeping it in the line up. the only thing I am not crazy about is the silly narrow rear wing. Looks a bit silly since its so narrow, should be a bit wider

  • Exotics

That actually looks super sick. F-Type was always sexy but never liked the headlights. Didn’t match the tail lights. That new headlight shape is perfect. Now make it electric or at least a plug in and I’ll consider it

  • Shobin Drogan

i love it, looks angryaf, cant wait for the reveal.

  • DR.FUNK

    Baby Aston vibes.
    Not a bad thing (btw.)

  • OSM CHAÎNE

    Just another facelift

  • SteersUright

Always a beauty betrayed by a cheapo, cramped interior. Hopefully Jag gets the interior right this time around.

  • Sybill Julian

    new mazda 3?

    Too low headlights…?
