Are You The 2020 Corvette C8?

The unveiling of the 2020 Corvette C8 is less than ten days away, but a YouTuber has posted what he’s claiming is an undisguised photo of the highly anticipated sports car.

While the quality isn’t that great, the picture shows the model will have an aggressive front fascia with aggressive air intakes. Bigger changes occur further up as the car has a flatter hood and slimmer headlights.

Additional details are hard to make out, but we can see new mirrors and prominent side scoops which flow into wide rear fenders. The low quality makes it hard to confirm the authenticity of the image, but several elements do match up with previous spy photos – just not all of them.

Regardless of whether or not this is actually the 2020 Corvette, a purported picture of the car’s rear end surfaced earlier this week. That image showed the model will have a ventilated rear fascia with a hexagonally shaped cut out for the license plate. The image also provided a glimpse of the all-new taillights and a prominent diffuser which is flanked by a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.

Chevrolet has been tight-lipped about the next-generation Corvette, but the model will be unveiled on July 18th at 7:30 PDT. While the company is staying coy on specifics, the entry-level model is slated to retain the Stingray name and use an updated 6.2-liter V8 engine dubbed the LT2.

Nothing is official, but reports have suggested the engine will have an output of between 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) and 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS). The torque output is also rumored to climb to approximately 480 lb-ft (650 Nm).

We’ll have more to say about the 2020 Corvette relatively soon, so stay tuned for details.

what can I use this blue pixel for? Are you kiddn me…

  • caddy45

If that is it, it looks better than expected. Assume that it’s a fake though based on one of the many renderings floating around out there.

    • Matt

Why would someone fake an extremely blurry image? It’s definitely real.

      • Galaxium

People do it all the time for new phones, tech, etc. They just want to stir up drama.

Only 9 more days left. Hopefully GM doesn’t pull a Ford and show the car without any indication of HP, torque, weight, price, or performance.

    • donald seymour

I hope GM execs reads your comment.

My guess is top trim will edge close to $135k.

    • donald seymour

      You and me both buddy.

  • Zandit75

Not sure what’s going on with the leading edge of the side scoops. Looks like a floating wing, or something is broken off.

  • LJ

This car wouldn’t look more generic if it had the Great Value logo on it.

    • donald seymour

      Someone up-vote this man!

    • Jay_Sam

Nailed it mate. Laughing f$$king out loud.

  • Six Thousand Times

Even if it is, it’s so blurry. Less telling than the camo cars.

  • ErnieB

Whether we like it or not, this car is historic. 1st production mid engine corvette. Think about it in terms of future value. It’s a first. Because of that I’d buy one.

    • Mynameis Taylor

      what’s so histroic about it?

      • ctk4949

Historic for chevy?? Not for anyone else. Even Toyota had a mid engine car. lol

        • DMax

          GM had Fiero lol

          • Porkopolis

And the Corvair? Or is that considered rear-engined?

    • Porkopolis

Don’t count on any of these being a good investment unless you get some of the first special editions, the first Z0X, the first Grand Sport, etc. Even then you better not drive it much.

  • john1168

Why the heck is the pic so grainy??? I get it’s a still pic with the background photoshopped out but this doesn’t really show anything we don’t already know. Someone get this guy a new camera…

    • Emoto

It was taken with a potato.

  • Karl

Historic car but why so uninspiring? The design seems to be not cohesive at all.

  • TruthSlayer

Honey———Where is my bottle of lotion?

    • no25

doesn’t take much to get you going, then, does it?

You have never properly explained how Acura, Buick and Lincoln are awful. Which makes me second guess your education and credibility. You may become upset with my comment, but I don’t care. It won’t solve anything.

        • no25

lol how about you stop trolling me, hun? I don’t even have to second guess your education, credibility, AND maturity just looking at your name and your picture – nothing is better than a fat old man who sexualizes women. you’ll be behind bars soon.

          • Navigator Navy✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ🍑

You’re a classless joke. You cannot explain why Acura and Lincoln are not up to your standards, although, you cannot afford their cheapest offerings. And I am not behind bars now and I won’t be later. Loser!

          • no25

LOL TYPICAL. assumes I can’t afford their cheapest offerings. Glad you know my income, sweetie. That’s classless. I don’t like Acura because their stupid grilles did not cure their ugly faces. The interiors have been the same for multiple generations and still look like Hondas. You can also get a better Honda cheaper than an Acura. I have nothing against Lincoln so stop assuming stuff. Happy “Loser!”? I do not need to explain why I hate a brand, but here you go, princess. Now, get a life and a job, please. I swear the old fat single men like you on here are hilarious.

          • no25

Still trying to figure out why you also went out of your way to reply to a comment that has NO relations to the nonsense you wrote because the wittle baby was offended. HAHAHA, loser.

  • ctk4949

Front end of a Hurucan, The side looks like a 570. The rear is a camaro, lol

  • Harry_Wild

Not an attractive car, the C8! Looks old retro supercar to me like a 1990s Ferrari overall with a Camaro rear end!

  • Emoto

Seems about what we all expected, no? I will reserve judgement until the nice, clear, high-res photos from the launch appear. Also, some cars/trucks/motorcycles look better in person than in photos, or vice versa. We’ll know in a week and a half, I guess.

  • Navigator Navy✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ🍑

    Looks good!

    • no25

      you’re blind too! sad 🙁

      • Arct1c

He has a Ford logo as his avatar.
        What did you expect?

  • Porkopolis

I’ll withhold judgement for the real car, but it looks like there’s a black hole in the middle of it that’s collapsing the front, sides, top, and rear of the car inward in an unattractive manner.

  • Tumbi Mtika

    I hope not.
