Police Arrest Seven People After Hoons Block California Highway To Do Burnouts

Police in Sacramento, California have arrested seven people and issued 27 citations as a number of local drivers blocked off roads to perform donuts.

KCRA 3 reports that the first incident took place at around 3:50 p.m. in the area of National Drive and North Market Boulevard and involved approximately 50 cars. The Sacramento Police Department and California Highway Patrol blocked the on-ramps for Interstate 5 and were able to disperse the crowd.

Seven people were arrested and of them, two were charged with driving under the influence.

The second incident occurred on northbound I-5 lanes and is featured in the video below. A number of cars were filmed doing donuts in the center of the highway while dozens of other motorists got out of their cars to watch. Traffic can be seen banked up well into the distance as cars come exceptionally close to sliding into bystanders. At least one of the vehicles filmed doing donuts appears to be a Mercedes-Benz.

Local media reports that traffic was blocked off by participants for approximately 15 minutes before they finally dispersed. No arrests were made in relation to this particular incident but a total of nine cars were impounded in response to it and to the sideshow which occurred earlier in the day.

“The really scary part is a lot of the people that are involved in this are minors or underage, who don’t have experience behind the wheel and are already doing something that’s extremely dangerous,” California Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Harris said.

    thats super retarded!

  • robotlogic

Anyone this stupid shouldn’t be trusted with a vehicle. I’d take their cars and crush them into cubes.

    • Honda NSX-R

I wouldn’t crush their cars, because the cars never did anything wrong. But their drivers did. Suspending their driver’s license would be a better punishment. Plus, we’ll have less morons on the road.

  • Mike anonymous

How popular is it to do this? (Having lived not only within the USA, but also within a number of countries on multiple continents…) I have never seen this before. Yet if I remember correctly this is about the second time this month we’ve heard about any person or group of people doing this.

Is this something that people have been doing for years? or is this simply something that has become popular as of late?. Curious.

    • Finkployd

🚨Spoiler alert !! he lived in different countries

    • MarketAndChurch

I think it’s more likely to happen in the US than in most first-world East-Asian or Northern European countries, as well as other members of the anglosphere (Canada, Australia, New Zealand). You see members of various ethnicies, classes, etc. engaging in this, from attention-#hores pulling a practical joke, rednecks, car-meetups, minorities in East Oakland, Asians on their motorcycles, etc.

      • Finkployd

Man I’ve seen that so many times in france & belgium it’s probably a tradition already 🙄🙄🙄 Just like burning cars for new years eve 🤬

  • Karl

Here is hoping every man, woman and child gets arrested and license taken away permanently! Miscreants such as these belongs in the jungle.

    • Kelly

I’m sensing racial overtones Karl. Your “jungle” statement is just as foolish as what’s been shown in the video. Calm down…fool

      • Karl

Call it what you will but only ANIMALS behaves like that! Not only are these miscreants a danger to all law abiding citizens but just imagine the lost of productivity time here. If the shoe fits then ware it Macho Man! It is anti-social behavior like these that leads to a break down in society. Get a life!

        • Kelly

I don’t agree with the behavior as well. I’ve been stuck behind sideshows on the way home from work TWICE, and it’s infuriating! I just don’t agree with the second half of your statement. To people of color it comes off as offensive. Btw…it’s “wear” not “ware” .

          • Karl

Thank you very much Einstein but political correctness is not part of my DNA! How did race became part of the conversation is a mystery to me. Anyhow, keep trolling..

      • Thunderbolt

get over yourself with the race card, it’s so old it’s not even relevant.

        • Karl

Thanks for rebuking that racial misfit

        • Kelly

Race Card? …because I can take offense to a statement, and express myself ?!? Take a nap Thunderbolt. Thank you.

      • MarketAndChurch

Potential friendly fire lol? I think Karl may be a Democrat like you.

        • Karl

Your assumption will not win you any votes…

          • MarketAndChurch

Well it’s just based on the comments that I think I’ve seen you upvote in the past.

        • Kelly

no way, I stay away from politics…dumpster fire on both sides.

          • MarketAndChurch

Leaping to racial overtones is very political though. In the absence of our current zeitgeist/culture, one wouldn’t necessarily leap to that conclusion, but that’s the world we live in, and I’m sure you are – or if not, should make yourself – aware of that.

      • Paulbe

Karl, I think you are guilty of the modern crime against the humanity known as pattern recognition.

      • Six_Tymes

your assumption is truly idiotic. then again, most coming from negative thinkers (“neggies”) usual are.

        • Kelly

Six_Tymes: My “assumption” is that Karl can defend himself…we need you to sit down. Thanks.

      • Stealth333

        Bro….Black Monkey lives matter!

  • Mr. EP9

Yet again, another group of hooligans who have nothing better to do with their time. I hope they never get their licenses back.

  • Bo Hanan

    Legalized recreational Marijuana.

  • Paul

They should never be allowed to drive again.

    • Robert

Agreed. But it’s California, so there will be civil rights lawyers lining up to protect the hooligans rights to do donuts on the freeway during rush-hour traffic.

  • Nigel Jones

    Stupid do not deserve cars.

  • CJKnox

I hrard the term “doing a donut” has a different meaning in jail.

    They’re about to find out.
