Chris Harris’ Personal Camaro Z/28 Hits The Auction Block

A 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 currently owned by Top Gear presenter Chris Harris is now offered online at the Collecting Cars auction platform.

The new owner will not only get what is believed one of the five Camaro Z/28s of this vintage in the UK, but will also be invited to a race track in the south west of England for an in-person handover by Harris – and some hot laps too.

The car was imported brand-new in the UK by Litchfield Motors in 2015 and it was sold to Chris Harris with 223 miles on the clocks.

The black Z/28 has now covered 7,962 miles and is an all-original example, fitted with a stock 505hp 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine, carbon ceramic brakes and 19-inch gloss black wheels. A Tremec six-speed manual transmission is coupled to a limited-slip differential, while the chassis features Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers that were first fitted to a production vehicle in the Z/28.

The Camaro Z/28 is lighter by around 130 kg compared to a ZL1, mostly thanks to things like a thinner rear window, sound deadening and boot carpet delete, as well as making the air conditioning an option.

The black paintwork is described to be in excellent condition, as is the black leather interior and the manual Recaro seats with the suede center panels. The car was last serviced in December 2018 by Litchfield.

If you’re looking for a characterful beast that’s also quite rare on European shores, then this 2015 Camaro Z/28 sounds like a great opportunity. The fact that you’ll get to meet Chris Harris in person comes as a bonus.

This was a weight savings measure.

You should read about this vehicle and the lengths they went to shave off each and every ounce. HID’s require ballasts/igniters that add weight.

LEDs are a simple bulb in place of the halogen lamp.
And much better than xenons in every aspect.

        • HaltestelleLuitpolthafen

Oh, I’m not debating that at all and I completely agree with you.

          LED > HID > Halogen

All I was saying is that every single measure was taken for weight savings in this vehicle. I don’t think there were ever LED headlamps in this generation of the Camaro though so it wasn’t available.
