How Much Does Your Dream 2020 Ford Escape Cost?

The official online configurator for the 2020 Ford Escape is live on the company’s U.S. website with pricing details of the new SUV also released.

Sitting at the base of the 2020 Escape range is the ‘S’ model priced from $26,080 including the $1195 destination charge. This model is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine but we suspect it probably won’t be the best selling new Escape model.

Those willing to pay a little more have SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels at their disposal with prices starting at $28,290, $30,450, and $34,595 respectively.

Perhaps the most exciting addition to the Escape family is the new SE Sport Hybrid. Prices for this model start at $29,450 and for the money, buyers get an all-new 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid engine paired with an electronic continuously variable transmission. This powertrains pumps out a total of 198 hp and can be coupled with the SE Sport Hybrid and Titanium trim levels. It has an all-electric driving range of at least 30 miles (48 km).

Sitting at the top of the powertrain range is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated exclusively to an all-wheel drive system and standard on the non-hybrid Escape Titanium and optional on the SEL. It delivers a meaty 250 hp.

Jumping into the configurator reveals a number of optional extras which can be added to the 2020 Escape models. For example, buyers can pay for $3395 and receive Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 Assist system that includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, a power tailgate, and remote start system. Among the interior options are a panoramic sunroof and front and rear floor liners.

“dream” Ford Escape is an oxymoron. Ford are in a strange phase. They have literally nothing that would appeal to me except the Mustang. Their regular sedans and especially their SUV’s are completely forgettable. Why would you really buy a Ford? WHy?

      Bc you want a truck.

  • WalthamDan

$0 Let’s see how many recalls this Escape has post launch. Hopefully a LOT less than the previous one.

  • Nihar

I’d take the Corsair. But I would like to see a sport trimmed Escape with an interior color other than black.

  • Bash

Man, if you have to dream, dream big. Enough said.

    • db

Yeah, at least step up to the Edge.

Kidding aside, the writer of this story definitely needs to set higher ambitions or cover up the Ford payola a little better.

    A lot apparently!

  • Super Rob

Who else actually LOL’d reading “dream Ford Escape” in the headline? Now dream Navigator would be something, but Escape, nope.

  • Jay

It would be free since I’d never spend my money on a Ford Escape. In fact they’d need to pay me to drive it a well.

    • Alduin

Well you’re in luck because once the crappy dual clutch transmission gives out and you’re stranded on the side of the road Ford has your back and you’re covered with their roadside assistance!

  • Bill Nguyen

My dream car definitely doesn’t look like that!

  • TheAmerican2point0

$0 because there is no way in hell any configuration of that could be my dream car

  • performante

Imagine paying $40k for a Ford Escape

    • pissedoffjuicebox

Imagine paying $62k for a Ford Explorer.

People are stupid, and the interior quality of the new Explorer should limit it’s price to about $42k tops.

  • Elpatore

There is no such thing as a “Dream Ford Escape”.

  • TheBelltower

    “dream Ford Escape.”

What? I wasn’t aware that there was such a thing. Is the glove box full of hookers and blow?

  • Mr. EP9

I’m just going to assume you were joking.

  • Alduin

When is the first recall? LOL.

  • Jeremy Wheeler

This article has so many errors, the Hybrid doesn’t have a 30 mile range, thats the PHEV version that wont even be made until next year. Brad Anderson needs to go back and do his homework.
It will definitely be my dream car, as the PHEV Ford Cmax has been the best car I have ever had and having a larger Escape with better all electric range will be a very popular option.
