Your Attention, Please: This Is The Porsche Taycan EV’s Dashboard

Porsche is constantly dropping more pictures and details of the Taycan, with the latest round revolving around the electric car’s interior.

Partially revealed in a new teaser, the dashboard layout is inspired by the latest-gen 911, code-named 992.

Drivers sit behind a steering wheel that looks almost identical to the new generation of the highly acclaimed sports car, while enjoying an infotainment system with new functions, a digital instrument cluster and other gizmos.

The main story highlighted by Porsche is the integration of Apple Music, with the Taycan becoming the first production car to get this feature. It gives subscribers access to over 50 million songs, without any ads, thousands of playlists and Beats 1 global livestream with 3-year in-car internet data. Audiophiles will be able to spec their rides with the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System with Apple Digital Masters, which promises “studio-quality sound for an unparalleled listening experience in every journey.”

“Porsche and Apple Music fit perfectly – we share common values, and the same relentless attitude to user experience, to quality engineering, to design, and to innovation”, said Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, Detlev von Platen. “Together, we bring innovative digital entertainment technologies in our high-performance sports cars, starting with our fully electric Taycan.”

The Taycan will reveal all of its secrets in a couple of weeks, on September 4. The all-wheel drive model, with two electric motors making a total system output of over 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW), will sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds and its lhe lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of around 90 kWh, should give it a 500+ km (310 miles) range in the NEDC.

  • ME

The look of the set up is nice, yet I feel the more traditional “analogue” needle set up is more Porsche to me.

  • Big Black Duck

I find this car to be hideous in in the photos…lets hope looking at one in the flesh changes my mind

  • Adi

It will be almost identical to concept except the passenger side screen. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2b2c94a170b37a416256ec21568f45263c7699caf8850bb4fa15cd02a8745e0b.jpg

    • Yavor

Why would they remove the passenger side screen? 🙁

  • Knotmyrealname

Please don’t tell me they are fake screw heads in the steering wheel spokes.

    • Rimas Kurtinaitis

They’re real screws on most Porsches.

      • Knotmyrealname

Well, every day is a school day. Thanks.
Certainly not a fan though. Only my personal taste.

        • Rimas Kurtinaitis

It does evoke a more industrial/unfinished look, and that’s definitely not for everyone.

          • Knotmyrealname

…And that’s why I would prefer not. To me, those elements don’t align with the modern character and aesthetic of the car. When I think Mission E and then this car, I don’t think exposed screw heads.

    • illogicalPotato

The screws have been a design feature since the 918.. and yes they’re real.

  • the spedometer jutting out of the top there is odd but everything else is clean looking.

    • lagunas3ca

      *HUD

    • kello3000

      That’s a clock.

      • WalthamDan

The clock’s digital and part of the multimedia screen below

      • irregardless it’s still odd.

        • MayTheBestCarWin05

          Irregardless isn’t a word.

‘Regardless’ is what you were aiming for.

          • my point still stands.

          • illogicalPotato

It doesn’t. It’s not odd at all. It’s entirely subjective you don’t like it.

          • well… yeah… that’s kinda why i said it’s odd…

          • MayTheBestCarWin05

I think everyone else understands the functionality this chronometer provides.

We also know that like on 911s, it’s optional. So it’s safe to assume it’ll be optional here as well.

The people who want that ‘wart’ understand the benefit of having a dedicated spot for the info it serves up in a spot that doesn’t require 1/using the infotainment and 2/taking ones eyes off the road

          • Yavor

            Irregardless is a word.

          • Rimas Kurtinaitis

It may be a word, but it’s a wrong one.

      • KAG25

        and a stop watch

    • Rimas Kurtinaitis

Ever seen a Porsche with the Sport Chrono package?

This “spedometer” has been around for quite a few 911 gens now.

    • salamOOn
    • KAG25
    • Yavor

I agree, keeping to old traditions which look stupid.

  • Six_Tymes

With a drive-train from Rimac… please, spare me the bs Porsche.

    • Rimas Kurtinaitis

Rimac is partly owned by Porsche *sigh*

    • exeptor

What is the problem? In fact many brands will appear with Rimac inside – we already have Pininfarina Batista, Aston Martin will use them, Koenigsegg, etc.

  • Androuffle

Subliminal message : time is 9:11 on both clocks lol

    • KAG25

I had to do a double take

  • Exotics

    Lol

Looks outdated. And the analog clock on top ruins it

    • wintergraan

      Lol

      Why does it look outdated?

      • Matt

He’s a Tesla troll with an ironic avatar.

        • wintergraan

          Yeah. It’s kinda obvious

  • TheBelltower

If the car ends up being amazing, then I’ll love the interior. If it ends up sucking, then we’ll all be claiming that everything should have been different.

  • I GUESS COWLS OVER THE IP ARE NO LONGER FASHIONABLE.

  • Enter Ranting

    Screens are boring.

  • KAG25

    Old school 911 dash, nice
