The BMW X7 M50i is Bavaria’s take on what a high-performance luxury SUV for Americans (chiefly) and beyond should be and go like. While its unveiling took place back in May, this specific version is now making its official public debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

In terms of styling, the X7 M50i comes with a new front bumper with larger air intakes for improved cooling, a sportier-looking rear bumper, new rocker panels, Cerium Grey accents, the Shadowline trim and an M Sport exhaust system.

Furthermore, the show car is riding on 22-inch lightweight alloy wheels, housing an M Sport braking system with blue calipers and M logos. Meanwhile, behind all that is a two-axle air suspension.

Then there’s the interior, which features an M leather steering wheel, M-branded shifter base, illuminated sill plates with ‘M50i’ logos, perforated leather seats and an Alcantara Anthracite headliner.

Now, if you think something that looks this opulent can’t be cheap, you’d be right. The BMW X7 M50i costs upwards of $99,600 in the U.S. (excluding the $995 destination charge), and a minimum of 111,900 euros in Germany. That can go north quickly once you start getting into the options.

As for performance, this luxury 7-seater is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine, putting down 523 HP (530 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

Thanks to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and its xDrive all-wheel drive system with the M Sport rear differential, the X7 M50i can accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds. Not bad at all for something that weighs more than two and a half tonnes (5,500 lbs).
