New Electric Honda e Prices Announced, Starts At €29,470 In Germany, £26,160 In The UK

The new Honda e, the brand’s first series-production electric vehicle, will be priced from €29,470 in Germany and from £26,160 in the UK, including local government incentives.

Honda debuted the final production version of its highly anticipated electric car at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, and it has already drawn 40,000 prospective customers to place a reservation ahead of first deliveries in summer 2020. The Japanese car maker will officially open the order books in selected markets in Europe this month.

The base version of the Honda e comes with s a 134 HP (136 PS) electric motor while there’s also the option of a more powerful 152 HP (154 PS) derivative. In both cases, the electric powertrain features a 35.5 kWh battery pack that delivers up to 137 miles (220 km) of driving range from a full charge.

The more powerful “Advance” version of the Honda e will start from €32,470 in Germany and from £28,660 in the UK. The British arm of the Japanese car maker also announced that the Honda e will be available on finance, starting from £299 per month for the base model.

The new Honda e also features fast-charging, claiming that it can charge its battery up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Features like the Side Camera Mirror System will be standard while Honda will offer the digital Center Mirror System, a premium audio and the brand’s Parking Pilot as options.

The cabin looks like one of the most inviting places in the compact class, featuring a minimal dashboard that hosts a five-screen full-width setup. The driver instrument cluster measures 8.8 inches in diameter while next to it sit the dual 12.3-inch touchscreen displays for the infotainment, which is fitted with Honda’s new Personal Assistant, an AI-powered voice command system. The outer two screen display the image from the door-mounted rear-view cameras.

Is it me or is it way overpriced compared to what others offer (or will offer soon) ?

    • SD38439

Way overpriced, although it does look a million times better than anything they’ve made in 30 years.

      • Ben

        Exactly!

    • Hi I am Zako

I feel like in terms of material-wise, it is overpriced, but the design and tech do worth a bit.

  • mikes

well that dashboard looks like somebody put a row of smartphones on top of a 1980’s car dash..

    • Ben

      And I love it!

Costs more than the sporty versions of the ICE rivals (Fiesta, Polo, Clio, 208).

  • HD

Pricey, but so is a Mini. This is premium mini car territory, your rivals are not Fiesta, Polo or Clio. Just look at that exterior / interior.

  • GTR nismo

Totally good car in my opinion

  • Bananarama

This thing looks so damn good inside and out. It’s a shame it’s over priced and under-spec’d.
Interesting because Honda’s are usually the reverse with more questionable designs…

  • Rimas Kurtinaitis

It looks fantastic, but the mere fact that it’s similarly priced to a VW one segment above it really says something on its price. Other than that, it’s an instant win for Honda.

  • charlotteharry57

Minimal dash? That’s a good one. The world does NOT need full-dash screens, let alone many of the oversized ones already on the market.

  • rockyroad

    omg yess

  • Jweisberg

Over priced. They could have kept cost down and improve range be going with a simpler dash layout, less screens.

Is it a car for day trader with those screens?
