The E46-generation BMW M3 is one of the must-have driver-focused vehicles of the moment and this stunning Laguna Seca Blue example on Bring A Trailer is one of the cheaper examples you will find online.

Prices for low-mileage E46 M3s have been on the rise and purchasing a pristine example requires a lot of money. This M3 has 185,000 miles (297,728 km) on the odometer which is a lot, especially for a vehicle that’s only 15 years old and as performance-focused as the E46 M3. Should the mere sight of that odometer reading put you off placing a bid? It depends.

At the time of writing, the car had attracted a highest bid of $8000 with seven days left in the auction and has recently undergone some engine repairs. The listing states that since the current owner took possession of the car earlier this year it has received new rod bearings, a VANOS rebuild, valve adjustment and upper timing chain guide, ignition service kit with coils and spark plugs, new water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, expansion tank, tensioner, and hoses. In addition, new engine mounts were fitted alongside new filters, front and rear differential bushings, Rogue Engineering transmission mounts, and new fluids.

There were reportedly just 35 examples of the 2004 E46 M3 painted in Laguna Seca Blue so the car is quite rare and the paint looks to be in good condition. The interior has also been well-maintained.

This certainly isn’t an M3 you would buy with the intention of storing and flipping in a few years’ time for a profit. Instead, it could serve as the perfect first M-branded car for an enthusiast or someone interested in turning it into a track toy.
