Oftentimes, some weird and wacky creations get featured on Jay Leno’s Garage, and most of them make for interesting viewing. This time, though, the comedian, TV-host and avid car fan had the opportunity to drive something more mainstream: the 2020 Bentley Continental GT V8 – that is, if you can call anything that comes out of Crew “ordinary”.

Bentley introduced its new family of V8-powered Continental models in the United States earlier this year. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivers a healthy 542 HP and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque, which is enough to propel the Coupe to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and the Convertible to the same mark in 4.0 seconds. Both top out at 198 mph (318 km/h).

Of course, a car like the Continental GT is about much more than performance; it also needs to be comfortable and a beautiful place to spend time in. The British car manufacturer has pulled out all the stops here, equipping the grand tourer with twenty-way adjustable leather seats up front and a 10-speaker, 650-watt Bentley Audio system as standard. Also found within is an optional Bentley Rotating Display with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Customers have four color split options available for the cabin and can customize many elements, including the contrast stitching and piping.

For this video, Leno is joined by Bentley’s Western Regional Director Michael Heywood and is given a detailed tour of the car before he takes it out onto the streets of Los Angeles. And while Bentleys may not appeal to everyone, it’s hard to deny that the Continental GT V8 definitely exudes class and sophistication.
