With a six-speed manual transmission, a naturally-aspirated V8 engine, and a design that still looks stunning, the E92-generation BMW M3 is a car many enthusiasts would love to own. This Santorini Blue model currently for sale on Bring A Trailer is one of the nicest we’ve come across recently.

You won’t find many E92 M3s out there painted Santorini Blue and that’s because the paint was a $5,000 option from the factory. It works beautifully with the rear-wheel drive sports car, accentuating the bulging bodywork and making the car a real head-turner.

The car’s original owner says this is one of just eight Santorini Blue E92 M3s built for the U.S. market. BMW also offered another 14 Santorini Blue models in Canada as part of a limited worldwide run of 500 E92 M3s produced in the M badge’s three colors, the others being Imola Red and Mineral White.

The car is driven by a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated S65 V8 engine delivering 414 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) although at one time it was fitted with a bolt-on supercharger kit which was removed before the current owner took possession. A plethora of other modifications were once fitted to the car as it was shown at SEMA one year. These included KW Clubsport coilovers, a full exhaust, various carbon fiber body parts, new headlights, and other alterations. It has since been returned to stock although there’s no doubt the previous modifications will impact its value.

Everything inside appears to be in excellent condition, including the black cloth/leather seats.

The car has attracted a high bid of $35,750 with three days left in the auction. We happen to think that with its six-speed manual and naturally-aspirated V8, the E92 M3 is a collector’s car in the making and buying one now could be one of the last opportunities enthusiasts have before prices start to jump further.
