2021 Peugeot e-Expert Electric Van Has 186-Mile Range, Will Go On Sale Next Year

Peugeot has joined sister brands Opel and Vauxhall with the unveiling of the e-Expert. The zero-emission van shares its underpinnings with the Vivaro, Toyota ProAce and other vehicles, as it’s based on PSA’s modular EMP2 platform, and will become available in the second half of 2020.

Like the Vivaro-e, Peugeot’s new light commercial vehicle (LCV) will be offered with a choice of two battery sizes. The base model will get the 50 kWh, which promises a range of 124 miles (200 km) in the WLTP cycle, whereas with the 75 kWh option, it is capable of traveling for 186 miles (299 km) on a single charge.

2016 Peugeot Expert

Except for the charging port added to the left front quarter panel, the new e-Expert looks identical to the ICE-powered versions of the French van. We don’t expect any major changes inside either, aside from the infotainment screen that will likely receive some extra function(s) for the EV powertrain, and perhaps some trim updates.

Peugeot has high expectations from the e-Expert, as it will strengthen its LCV lineup and will further boost the division’s sales. Since its launch in 2016, they delivered more than 170,000 units of the LCV worldwide.

The electric panel van will join the company’s zero-emission vehicle lineup that currently counts the e-Boxer van, e-208 supermini and e-2008 subcompact crossover, and will expand the electrified family that includes the liftback and estate plug-in hybrid versions of the 508, as well as the 3008 Hybrid4.

Full specs and pricing will be announced in due course.
