There is a new Jeep Wrangler on the block and it sits at the top of the off-roading family.

Dubbed the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon, the new model features a host of distinctive features that promise to make it more capable than all others. The new model, first reported on by Mopar Insiders, comes as standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an eTorque mild hybrid assist system that adds start/stop functionality.

This powertrain delivers a total of 270 hp and 295 lb-ft (399 Nm) of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Helping the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon stand out from lesser variants are 17-inch black wheels with 33-inch mud-terrain tires, a Mopar bumper hoop, LED headlights, taillights, fog lamps, and daytime running lamps, as well as steel bumpers. Elsewhere, the off-roader receives Moab rock rails, a Recon hood decal, Rubicon Grey headlamp surrounds, and some distinctive badges.

Insiders, buyers will be welcomed by red seat belts, body-colored dash vent bezels, red contrast stitching, and the Jeep Trail-Rated Kit. There are a total of ten exterior colors on offer; Black, Granite Crystal, Sting-Gray, Billet Silver, Ocean Blue, Bikini, Firecracker Red, Punk’N, Hellayella, and Bright White.

Prices for the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon start at $42,545 for the two-door model and $46,045 for the four-door (both prices including destination). These figures represent a $2,755 jump over the base price of the ‘regular’ Rubicon.
