This particular example was sold new out of Chinetti Motors in 1962. Details about its first owner are limited but it was purchased by the current owner on October 11, 1988 when it had 48,033 miles (77,301 km) on the clock. Evidently, the first owner really enjoyed driving it. Under the ownership of the seller, the car received a full frame-off restoration starting in July 1990 and not completed until June of 1997. During this time, not only was the body, frame, and paint thoroughly restored but the engine and drivetrain were also rebuilt. In the decades since, the car has covered just 2,500 miles (4,023 km).

As these images show, both the exterior and interior of the car appear to be an immaculate condition, so much so that the car almost looks new. Included in the sale will be all the original tools, jack, spare wheel, and restoration documentation.

Responsible for the stunning exterior design of the 250 GTE 2+2 Series II was none other than Pininfarina and in total, just 954 examples were built between 1960 and 1963 with prices starting at $12,600 back in the day.
