While spring is just around the corner even in the coldest parts of North America, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles decided it’s a good time to release a snow plow pack.

Presented at the National Truck Equipment Association’s ‘The Work Truck Show’ in Indianapolis, Indiana, it’s an option available for the 2021 Ram 1500. The plow can be equipped to the Tradesman, Big Horn and Laramie 4×4 models, powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, 5.7-liter HEMI e-Torque V8 or 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6.

Priced at $195, the Snow Plow Prep package includes the 220-amp alternator, truck-side plow wiring harness and rear power-sliding window with defroster. Mind you, adding this option will remove the active air dam. Furthermore, Ram will be charging customers separately for the actual plow, as well as the mounts and controller. All parts will become available later this year.

“As Part of Ram’s commitment to continuous improvement within the segment, we now offer a Snow Plow Prep package for Ram 1500 customers”, said the chief of the brand, Reid Bigland. “Ram has taken a larger presence in the commercial vehicle market and this offering is the latest expansion of our hardworking trucks.”

The 2020 Ram 1500 is offered in the Limited, Laramie Longhorn, Rebel, Laramie, Big Horn and Tradesman trim levels. For the base model, you’re looking at a minimum of $33,145, while the Ram 1500 Classic starts at $27,645. The bigger 2500 and 3500 are listed from $33,645 and $35,095, respectively, and the Chassis Cab at $35,000.
