Dashcam video has captured the moment a Ford Mustang steered directly into the path of a 2015 Ford Focus in the U.S.

Writing about the incident on Reddit, the driver of the Focus says that a black sedan and red Ford Mustang were sitting in the emergency lane of the highway after getting into a fender bender. The video shows this was indeed the case and makes it look as though the lead foot of the Mustang driver was the reason for the crash with the Focus.

As the driver of the Mustang pulls away from the fender bender, it seems the driver hit the throttle a little too hard, kicking out the tail of the pony car and sending it directly into the path of the compact Ford. With no time for the driver of the Focus to react, the car slams into the side of the Mustang at roughly 60 mph (96 km/h). The force of the impact sent the Focus spearing across four lanes of traffic before it slammed into a wall on the side of the motorway.

The owner of the Focus says police arrived on the scene and issued the Mustang driver with a host of tickets. Fortunately, the Focus driver wasn’t seriously injured in the crash and only suffered a bruise across their stomach from the seat belt.

The insurance company of the Focus driver totaled the car and if the owner of the Mustang also had insurance, their car likely would have been totaled as well.
