The owner of a brand new BMW M5 had their car totaled just minutes after taking delivery. Details are limited, but crash quickly went viral on Facebook after user Shahzaib M. uploaded pictures and video of the aftermath. Do note that this is not his car, but apparently, of someone he knows.

While he didn’t go into specifics, Malik said the crash occurred in Baltimore, Maryland when another vehicle sideswiped the BMW. This reportedly caused the driver of the M5 to lose control and smash into a telephone pole.

That’s pretty vague, but it appears a crossover was making a u-turn and went into the far right lane where it crashed into the BMW. The driver of crossover apparently kept going and then, somehow, spun around 180 degrees.

Regardless of how the events unfolded, the M5 suffered significant damage as the whole front end was destroyed in the crash. We can also see the hood was peeled back and the windshield was shattered.

While the front end took the brunt of the damage, we can also see a mangled rear door and fender. This appears to have been the initial point of contact and where events suddenly went downhill.

Everyone appears to have escaped unharmed, but it definitely had to be a bad day for the M5 owner as their car reportedly had just 7 miles (11 km) on the odometer.

While the M5 was undoubtedly insured, the super sedan starts at $102,700 and has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that produces 592 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. It enables the all-wheel sedan to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and onto a top speed of up to 189 mph (305 km/h).
