Ferrari has been going back and forth about launching an SUV for a few years now, but the Purosangue is reportedly happening, and could launch within the next two years, if the latest reports are correct.

Meanwhile, the Maranello company cannot take on the Lamborghini Urus, but if there is one vehicle that can be considered a substitute, then that’s the Maserati Levante Trofeo.

The most exciting version of the Italian model features a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 built by Ferrari themselves. The engine produces 582 HP (590 PS / 434 kW) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque, channeled to the Q4 Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system via the eight-speed automatic transmission signed by ZF.

In terms of performance, the Levante Trofeo can mix it with the big boys in the super SUV segment. The trident brand claims that it’s capable of sprinting from rest to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds, and all the way up to 186 mph (300 km/h).

Now, it’s one thing to talk about it and a completely different thing to see it tackle a twisty road, and this is what it did in the video posted by TheSmokingTire and shared below. Mind you, you won’t be bored by the (sometimes) unnecessary remarks that try to cover every aspect of the fast Italian SUV before providing a verdict on whether it’s worth your hard earned money – $169,980 in the U.S. and €155,000 ($167,440) in Germany, as the reviewer concentrated on the sound aspects alone. So, get ready to hear a lot of that V8 rumble.
