It is being reported that the next-generation 2021 Ford F-150 will hit the production line in late September.
An admin from the F-150 Gen14 forum states that Ford’s Dearborn plant will start producing the new F-150 on September 28, slightly later than the originally planned date of August 17. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Plant will start building the new pickup on October 26, also delayed from the original September 14 date.
The dates have been pushed back due to the ongoing plant shutdowns. Additionally, order books for the new F-150 will reportedly open on June 15, a touch over a month after the original date of May 11.

The new Ford F-150 will feature an updated design incorporating new headlights and a new grille. Also found up front will be boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. Elsewhere, it looks as though the new pickup will feature new secondary lights up front, positioned horizontally and towards the base of the bumper. Also on the menu are new wing mirrors and simplified taillights that somewhat resemble those of the Nissan Titan.
Many updates to the cabin are also on the cards. These updates will include an enlarged SYNC 3 infotainment system expected to be at least 12 inches in size and featuring split-screen capability so it can show audio controls and navigation information at the same time.
The powers that be
In terms of power, the 2021 F-150 will feature an assortment of engines, with an internal document decoding the VINs suggesting the truck will be offered with six different engines, most of which will be carried over.
These include a 3.3-liter V6 producing 290 hp (216 kW / 294 PS), a slightly more powerful 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 325 hp (242 KW / 330 PS), a 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS) 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and the familiar 5.0-liter V8 engine with 395 hp (295 kW / 400 PS). There will also be a 3.0-liter PowerStroke V6 diesel engine and a new hybrid powertrain with a 3.5L V6.
