A Porsche 911 Turbo S comprehensively modified by EKanoo Racing out of Bahrain is capable of acceleration that will not only leave a Tesla Model S Performance in the dust, but also likely prove quicker than the wild electric hypercars being readied by the likes of Lotus, Pininfarina, and Rimac.

As standard, the 911 Turbo S is already one of the most accelerative vehicles on the planet but EKanoo’s example takes things to extreme new heights.

During a recent run down the drag strip, the bright blue Porsche sprinted to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 1.87 seconds while then hitting 130 mph (209 km/h) in a mere 5.31 seconds. Road cars that hit 60 mph in around 5 seconds are often considered quite brisk but in that time, this Porsche is doing more than double that! Now that’s performance. The car ran through the quarter-mile in just 8.443 seconds at 169.37 mph (273 km/h).

This particular 911 Turbo S, known as ES1XXX, has been on the Bahrain drag racing scene for a number of years now and just keeps getting quicker. In October 2017, the best quarter-mile time it had achieved was an 8.99 second run with a trap speed of 160.7 mph (258.7 km/h).

A little bit of digging reveals that the engine has been thoroughly modified by Turkish specialist Esmotor and delivers more than 1,073 hp and 1,028 lb-ft (1,393 Nm) of torque at the wheels. It also includes a Dodson Motorsports clutch pack to handle all of that power.
