The owner of a $300,000 boat in Cedar Lake, Indiana was so eager to save the sinking vessel over the weekend that he appears to have flooded his Jeep Wrangler and F-150 in a bizarre rescue mission.

Social media users claim that the expensive Pavati wake boat started sinking just off-shore on the weekend and within sight of the owner’s property. If a boat starts to sink, it can be very hard to save but that fact didn’t dissuade the owner of this boat from throwing out all common sense in his attempts to save it.

Images and a video shared online show the owner drove both a Ford F-150 Raptor and Jeep Wrangler into the lake in the hopes of towing out the boat before it went under. For whatever reason, he gave no real thought to the fact that while the Raptor and Wrangler are good off-roaders and can deal with water, they aren’t boats and shouldn’t be driven into a lake as if they are boats.

One particularly interesting photo from the scene shows a huge house in the background with a helicopter parked outside and what appears to be a Lamborghini in the garage. A little bit of digging reveals the owner of the boat, Jeep, and F-150 lives in this house and has an Instagram page with a touch over 78,000 followers. He posted a photo online of the Pavati boat in late May and the same house is visible in the background. He looks to also own a Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, a Hellcat-powered Jeep Wrangler, a twin-turbo Lamborghini Huracan, among other vehicles.

They say money doesn’t buy common sense. Evidently, that’s true.
