Since Porsche already offers its customers a multitude of ways to customize their vehicles, the carmaker recently went about applying this very same philosophy to its range of timepieces.

This customizable Porsche Design Timepiece can be specced out by customers through an online configurator currently available in Europe and set to be available in the United States from September 1, 2020.

Prices start at $6,000 but can increase to up to $12,500 depending on what options the customer may want.

All timepieces have a 42 mm case. Customers can then select between a glass head-blasted natural titanium case or a black titanium case coating in titanium carbide. Additionally, Porsche Design offers six different rotor types to choose from, adding that the color on the rotor edge can be customized, and can match the wheels of a Porsche car, for example.

Porsche Design has also developed heaps of different metal and leather watchbands that are available in three sizes. The metal bands are made from titanium and feature individually screwed-down links. They are also offered in glass bead-blasted natural titanium or black-coated titanium carbide. All leather straps are crafted from the same hides that Porsche uses for its interior and come in 14 different color options. Porsche also offers 19 different colors of genuine Porsche yarn, meaning there are up to 300 different possible configurations.

The dial is personalized via inlaid color rings, of which there are 27 Porsche 911 exterior and interior colors to choose from. Last but not least is the available laser engraving.

“No other car manufacturer or watch brand currently offers such a customizable and exclusive program of this kind,” Porsche Design chief executive Jan Becker said. “The colors, types of leather and decorative stitching on these chronographs all originate from automotive production.”
