A tuning company by the name of xXx Performance out of Germany has modified a hatchback you don’t see altered all that often: the VW e-Golf.
The tuner has started out its work by fitting a set of aftermarket wheels. They measure 19×8.5 at all four corners, are wrapped in Nexen tires and weigh just 18.7 pounds (8.5 kg) each, reducing the vehicle’s unsprung mass and, thus, improving its handling.

While new lightweight wheels and tires alone can have a small impact on how a car handles, xXx Performance has gone one step further by installing a set of ST X coilovers that also lower the ride height, improving the handling as well as the overall looks of the hatchback. The e-Golf presented also has a striking livery to promote the tuner.
Inside, much of the e-Golf’s cabin has been stripped out and parts such as the front seats and rear seats of the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE have been slotted in.
In its German press release for the car, xXx Performance says it also offers power upgrades for the e-Golf’s all-electric powertrain, but doesn’t provide any details.
As a reminder, the e-Golf will soon be killed off as the ID.3 now fulfills the role of Volkswagen’s all-electric compact hatchback. The e-Golf has nevertheless been the company’s most successful electrified model, and as of January this year, 104,000 examples had been sold worldwide.
