A Russian company by the name of Aviar Motors has previewed a Tesla-based electromod Ford Mustang it is currently developing.

The unique creation is underpinned by the platform of a Tesla Model S and features the sedan’s same 100 kWh battery pack and two electric motors. Dubbed the Aviar R67, it is said to be good for 840 hp, can accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Placed on top of the Model S platform are lightweight composite body panels mimicking the design of a classic Ford Mustang. A host of distinctive parts bring the design into the modern day, including the fitment of headlights with circular daytime running lights, a carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber front grille and carbon fiber side skirts.

Due to the vehicle’s Tesla underpinnings, some carryover parts are visible in the interior, the most notable of which is the large vertical infotainment system. A plethora of changes have been made to the cabin, however, including the implementation of round circular air vents, a new digital instrument cluster, and a bespoke three-spoke steering wheel.

The Russian company says the R67 is good for 507 km (315 miles) of range on a single charge. Adding to the appeal of the car is that, thanks to its Model S powertrain, it is compatible with Tesla superchargers.

Aviar hasn’t said how much the car will cost, but you can bet that it won’t be cheap.
