German tuner Lorinser specializes in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but a recent social media post suggests the company wouldn’t mind attracting some BMW customers as well.

In a photo uploaded on Facebook and Instagram, the well-known aftermarket firm showcases its LM2R light alloy wheels on a 2020 BMW 7 Series. “The new LORINSER LM2R Alloy Wheels – also fitting for BMW! How do you like this combination?” reads the accompanying caption.

We’ll let you answer that question in the comments section, but not before offering you some information on the LM2R wheel.

It’s inspired by a classic Mercedes-Benz wheel from the 1990s evoking the spirit of iconic models like the W140 S-Class, W124 and 190. Lorinser revised the design and made it available exclusively in a diameter of 21 inches, with a width of either 9 or 10.5 inches, with both sizes being available in hypersilver or black. The 9×21 LM2R wheel costs €725 ($858) in Germany, while the wider 10.5×21 variant is priced at €750 ($887).

The wheels come with five lug nuts and an ET44 offset so they’re also compatible with the BMW 7 Series and other models from the Bavarian company’s lineup – and while they scream Mercedes-Benz, the LM2R wheels don’t look half bad on the G11 7 Series. However, considering that the car in the photo has an all-black exterior, fitting the black alloys would have probably been the better choice.

It remains to be seen if Lorinser is seriously considering offering tuning bits for BMW vehicles or if this was just a one-off social media stunt.
