Genesis has released the first images of the GV70, the automaker’s second SUV that is currently being showcased in Korea with a black and white camouflage wrap.

We’ve known about the GV70 for over a year now but this is our best chance to see it, other than spy shots. These photos reveal the GV70 will be noticeably smaller than the current Genesis GV80 while also having a slightly more sleek design.

Genesis has employed its ‘Athletic Elegance’ design language to the SUV. This is particularly apparent at the front end where the GV70 has similar Quad Lamps as other recent Genesis models like the new G70, G80, and G90. In addition, there is a prominent black grille and a pair of large air intakes.

The side profile of the SUV is particularly interesting. It clearly features a shorter wheelbase than the GV80 and has thick C-pillars and small side windows between the C-pillars and D-pillars. The roofline also aggressively tapers down to a steeply raked rear window. Found at the rear will be a set of familiar Quad Lamp taillights.

“We are thrilled to share this early sneak preview of our second SUV, the Genesis GV70,” the automaker said with the release of these images. “It telegraphs an exciting new design and reinforces the core brand values that run through our lineup. We look forward to sharing full details on GV70 with everyone in the near future.”

Genesis has yet to announce when the GV70 will be officially unveiled.
