Seat has entered the electric scooter market with its first dedicated product, the MO eScooter 125, which will launch in Spain in November and in other main European countries before early next year.

Pricing in the brand’s home market will start at €6,250 (equal to $7,318), or almost half the cost of the Ibiza subcompact hatchback, which is listed from €13,160 ($15,408) locally, or €3,650 ($4,274) less than the Mii city car.

Available in a variety of colors, the eScooter has a brushless electric motor integrated into the rear wheel that develops 7 kW (9 PS / 9 HP), with a 9 kW (12 PS / 12 HP) peak power, and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. This allows it sprint from 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in 3.9 seconds and reach a 95 km/h (59 mph) top speed.

Power is supplied by a 5.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is removable and can be plugged in at home or at public charging stations, or simply on the zero-emission scooter. Tipping the scales at 41 kg (90 lbs), the battery takes between 6 and 8 hours to recharge and provides an urban range of up to 137 km (85 miles).

“The Seat MO eScooter 125 shows the continuous commitment of Seat MO, Seat’s urban mobility division, to taking care of the environment, cities and people”, said the brand’s MO Director, Lucas Casasnovas. “Seat MO continues to develop urban mobility products and services that ensure mobility without noise, without emissions and with a minimum footprint, in order to improve the quality people’s lives in cities.”
