A Tesla Model S was filmed traveling down a motorway in China when its roof flew off.

The video was first shared online on Weibo and quickly gained attention on the popular Chinese social media website. It shows a Model S driving down the right lane of the motorway when, all of a sudden, the roof flies off. It can be seen flipping and soaring through the air, but fortunately, didn’t hit the car of the cammer, nor any other vehicles on the road.

Shortly after the video was shared online, Tesla revealed that it had been in contact with the owner of the Model S and discovered that the glass roof had recently been replaced by an authorized third-party repair center.

While it has yet to be confirmed what exactly went wrong with the repair, it’s possible that not enough glue was used to secure the roof or that the glue used simply hadn’t had the chance to dry properly.

This isn’t the first time an incident involving the roof of a Tesla flying off has emerged. Only six weeks ago, a video surfaced online showing a Model Y without a top after the panoramic glass roof blew off on the drive home from the dealership.
