The Aventador sure is a very special supercar, but some are born more equal than the others – and none is more thrilling than the SVJ Roadster, as the guys from TheStraightPipes recently discovered.
Even though it has been a couple of years since the Aventador SVJ Roadster was first unveiled, it remains one of the most remarkable performance cars to have been launched in recent years and is a bit of a beast to drive.

Powering the Aventador SVJ Roadster is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 producing 759 hp and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. This engine is coupled to Lamborghini’s seven-speed ISR transmission and while it isn’t as quick or as smooth as a dual-clutch, it suits the brutish character of the supercar to a tee. In ideal conditions, it will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, but its all-wheel drive system does have a habit of spinning up the rear wheels off the line.
The fixed-top Aventador SVJ used to hold the production car lap record around the Nurburgring. As such, this car, despite being an open-top, really thrives on the track, as it is hard to accurately assess its handling credentials on the road without breaking every speed limit imaginable. Nevertheless, the reviewers were able to throw the car into some corners and were left very impressed.
