Abarth Keeps Milking The 595 Range, Launches It In The UK All Freshened Up

While Fiat launched a new all-electric 500 last year, there was no Abarth variant.

As a result, they have subtly revised the current 595 range for 2021, with emphasis on new colors and tweaked interiors, and will launch it in the United Kingdom early next month in two body styles, hatchback and convertible.

Priced from £17,760 ($24,296), the entry-level 595 gets standard LED daytime running lights, polyelliptical headlights (xenon is optional), updated instrument panel, 7-inch touchscreen display with DAB radio and smartphone integration, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

Boasting a refreshed interior, with exclusive diamond-embossed leather seats available in different colors including the new heritage brown, the 595 Turismo is next up in the lineup and has a starting price of £20,960 ($28,674).

Available in the new Rally Blue paint finish, a matte color inspired by the 1970s Fiat 131 Abarth Rally, the 2021 595 Competizione, which is priced from £23,060 ($31,547), rides on new 17-inch wheels, said to be a nod to the Lancia Delta Rally Integrale of the 1990s, and still features the exclusive body kit. Inside, it has an Alcantara-wrapped dashboard, new ‘Scorpion’ mode selector, leather seats and a carbon fiber gear lever.

Sitting at the top of the range, the 595 Esseesse has new titanium pipes for the Akrapovic exhaust said to provide a deeper tone, new dashboard effect and a gear lever made of carbon fiber. Pricing starts at £26,560 ($36,335).

Power comes courtesy of a 1.4-liter T-jet engine, which pumps out 145 HP in the base 595, 165 HP in the Turismo and 180 HP in the Competizione and Esseesse. It is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission as standard, while though a robotized sequential transmission with paddle shifters is available in all but the entry-level model.
