The Mercedes-AMG E63 S Estate is one of the baddest wagons out there, and it recently became The Stig’s weapon of choice for drifting on a twisty road.
The vehicle was set loose at the Longcross circuit in England with Top Gear’s tamed racing driver behind the wheel, in a video game-like clip that can be watched at the bottom of the page.
Nonetheless, before scrolling down and clicking the play button, let’s go through some of the specs of the car, which uses AMG’s omnipresent 4.0-liter V8, with twin turbochargers. The engine is hooked up to a AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission with nine gears, driving all four wheels.

The force-fed V8 pumps out 603 HP and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque, rocketing the AMG E63 S Estate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds, one tenth of a second slower than the sedan, whereas top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h).
It also features a standard Drift Mode, which allows drivers to go sideways with the thrust channeled to the rear wheels, and it has the AMG Ride Control+ suspension, with adjustable damping that can be set to one of the three settings: Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
In the States, the 2021 E63 S Estate has an MSRP of $112,450, $3,450 more than one of its biggest rivals, the Audi RS6 Avant. In Germany, it can be bought from €128,210.60 ($156,598), and in the UK it starts at £101,495 ($138,667).
