Lotus has released a handful of images previewing the steering wheel and digital instrument cluster of the 2022 Emira.

Following the demise of the Elise, Exige and Evora, the Lotus Emira will be the last model built by the British automaker before it morphs into an all-electric brand.

These teaser images show that the Emira will come fitted with a steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and complete with touch buttons to control things such as volume and navigating the car’s various functions. We can also see the Emira will feature a configurable digital instrument cluster that displays various important vehicle functions as well as things like a G-meter.

Previous teasers of the Emira released by Lotus have revealed that its exterior design will draw inspiration from the all-electric Evija. In fact, the headlights of the Emira appear very similar to those of the Evija and it will also feature similarly pronounced front and rear haunches, giving it a stance on the road very different from the Elise, Exige, and Evora.

Underpinning the Emira will be an improved version of the Evora’s bonded aluminum architecture known as the ‘sports car platform.’ Powertrain details remain under wraps, but the car is expected to be offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired to a dual-clutch transmission and producing over 300 hp. Also on offer will be a supercharged 3.5-liter Toyota V6 with more than 416 hp and available with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 2022 Lotus Emira will be revealed in full on July 6 prior to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
