The wait is almost over as Chevrolet has announced the 2023 Corvette Z06 will be unveiled on October 26th.

The company is keeping details under wraps, but teased the model will “amplify the thrill of driving” and offer incredible performance on American backroads, the Autobahn and the “world’s most recognizable tracks like Circuit de la Sarthe.”

While the latter might not ring a bell, that’s where the 24 Hours of Le Mans is held and it’s prominently featured in the teaser video alongside the C8.R. This isn’t a coincidence as the two models will have a lot in common.

Putting that aside for the moment, the video shows the Corvette Z06 will have a more aggressive front end with a prominent splitter. They’ll be joined by a large wing and a more extreme rear bumper with a center-mounted four-tailpipe exhaust system.

While Chevrolet is staying tight-lipped, the Z06 is slated to have a 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 engine like the one in the C8.R. However, the road-going model will be far more powerful as it’s rumored to have 617 hp (460 kW / 626 PS) and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque.

That’s a bit less than its predecessor, which had a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, but it’s still a sizeable improvement over the standard model that has up to 495 hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.

It’s also worth noting the Z06 should be impressively quick as the Corvette Stingray with the Z51 Performance Package can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and run the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 121 mph (195 km/h).
