Chevrolet has released the first photo of the 2023 Corvette Z06, before its official unveiling that is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26th.

This is our first official look at the new Corvette Z06 without any camouflage. We can see a redesigned bodykit including a unique front bumper inspired by the Corvette C8.R race car, wider fenders and larger side intakes. The multi-spoke wheels also appear to be unique to the Z06, while the surprising absence of a fixed rear spoiler could mean that the car will be available with different visual/aero packages.

During the past months, prototypes of the Z06 have been spied at the Nürburgring with two different types of rear spoilers. The camouflaged Corvette appearing on Chevrolet’s official teaser video looks identical to those models with a characteristic V8 sound coming out of the quadruple exhaust pipes.

The video shows the track-focused Vette being tested on both the Green Hell and the Le Mans circuit, with glimpses of the C8.R racecar in between shots. It is rumored that the 2023 Corvette Z06 may have set a 7:12 lap time at the Nürburgring with traffic, which could mean that a sub-7 minute time is possible.

Besides the upgrades on the aero, brakes, and suspension setup, the Z06 will also use a new engine. The 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 is rumored to produce 617 hp (460 kW / 626 PS) and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque. This might be slightly less compared to the previous generation but it is a healthy increase of the 495 hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of the Corvette Stingray‘s 6.2-liter V8. More power translates to 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in under 2.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 184 mph (296 km/h).

The revealing photo will be followed by more teasers and information as we approach the Z06’s debut.
