The Kimera EVO37 recently arrived on British shores and YouTuber TheTFJJ had the opportunity to ride shotgun in the retro-inspired sports car.

Like the original Lancia 037, the Kimera EVO37 is powered by a 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine. Providing this four-cylinder mill with some added fire is both a supercharger and a turbocharger, allowing it to churn out 500 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a manual transmission.

Watching this video, the first thing that will strike you about the EVO37 is the epic soundtrack produced by this engine. It has the characteristic sound of a heavily-boosted four-cylinder and the transmission produces the type of whine you’d expect only from a race car’s gearbox. The interior of the EVO37 is also beautifully simplistic, is clad in a combination of red and black Alcantara and features a carbon fiber dashboard.

In an effort to keep the weight of the car as low as possible, Kimera crafted all of its body panels from carbon fiber, rather than fiberglass like the original 037. It also sits on staggered 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels and has a redesigned suspension system from Ohlins, while stopping power is provided by Brembo brakes.

Building a car with a retro-inspired design like this is never easy, but Kimera has done a very good job. Admittedly, customers will need to pay a pretty penny to buy one, with confirmation that just 37 units will be built, each priced from €480,000 (~$585,000).
