Top Gear Magazine’s annual SpeedWeek is upon us and for the 2021 edition of the test, no less than 26 of this year’s finest performance cars will be put to the test.

In this video, Jack Rix and Chris Harris discuss the contenders which include everything from hot hatches to restomods, modern-day supercars, track-only toys, and muscle cars.

The first car featured in this overview is the potent Ferrari SF90 Stradale. It serves as the brand’s current flagship and rocks a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 supplemented by three electric motors. Harris wasn’t a huge fan of the SF90 when he first drove it for the Top Gear TV show but says the example featured in this test drove very different, likely due to some calibration changes that had been performed on it.

The video then turns to the Hyundai i20 N which Harris says excites him more than the SF90. The veteran journalist also discusses the Lamborghini Huracan STO, revealing that it is the best Lamborghini he has driven since he drove a Diablo in 2001. Another intriguing car featured is a restomod Peugeot 205 GTI.

Some other cars to be featured in Speed Week are the McLaren 720S GTX, Zenvo TSR-S, Audi RS e-tron GT, Lotus Elise, Bentley Continental GT Speed, VW Golf R, Porsche 911 GT3, Ford Mustang Mach 1, and some others.

Given how quickly the industry is moving towards electrification, it won’t be long before mega-tests like these feature nothing but hybrids and EVs. Folks, let’s enjoy these times while they last.
