Spofec Builds 3 Overdose Convertibles Based On The Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge

As the Rolls-Royce Dawn is approaching the end of its lifecycle, Spofec launched three examples of the Overdose Convertible based on the Black Badge variant of the luxurious four-seater.

The Overdose tuning package including major visual and mechanical upgrades was launched for the Wraith back in 2016, with similar modifications for the closely-related Dawn following in 2017. This year, Spofec announced a limited series of three Overdose coupe models based on the Wraith Black Badge, and now they will build another three Overdose convertibles based on the Dawn Black Badge.

Starting with the exterior, the bodykit made entirely of carbon is characterized by the custom front and rear fenders adding 13 cm (5.1 inches) on the width of the car. Those are combined with redesigned front and rear bumpers featuring aggressive styling, new rocker panels with integrated intakes, and a lip spoiler. Finally, a set of 22-inch forged wheels made by Vossen is shod in mixed tires measuring 265/35 ZR22 at the front and 265/35 ZR22 at the rear. As we mentioned earlier this Overdose is based on the Black Badge trim so everything on the presentation car is painted in black for a stealthy look.

A Power Boost Under The Hood

Under the bonnet, the twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine has been upgraded with the help of the N-Tronic module, producing 677 hp (505 kW / 686 PS) and 980 Nm (723 lb-ft) of torque. This is higher than the 539 hp (442 kW / 601 PS) and 840 Nm (620 lb-ft) of the stock Dawn Black Badge allowing improved performance figures. More specifically Spofec claims that the Overdose accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.6 seconds which means it is -0.3 seconds faster than the factory-spec model. Due to the car’s weight, the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) in order to protect the tires.

Other modifications include the recalibrated air suspension bringing the car 40 mm (1.6 inches) closer to the ground at speeds up to 140 km/h (87 mph) before reverting to the original level.

Spofec (its name originates from the ‘SPirit OF ECstasy’) is offering plenty of customization options for the interior of the Overdose convertibles that can be specified according to the preferences of each of the three owners. The tuner suggests they could add “any desired color, a multitude of leather types and a virtually endless variety of designs”. While we don’t have information on the price of the limited-edition vehicle, we are sure it will be significantly higher than the stock model since featuring a significant number of new parts.
