Seeing listings for vehicles from all around the world sometimes makes us want to move to other countries. Like this new but tastefully modified right-hand-drive Suzuki Jimny that is currently listed for sale in Japan for the fair price of ¥2,453,000 ($21,331).

Part of the coolness of this particular Jimny has to do with Damd’s “The Roots” bodykit, originally unveiled in 2020. As hinted by the name, the design of the grille and steel bumpers pays homage to the first-generation Jimny LJ10 from the ’70s. In this vehicle, it is combined with a bulged bonnet from the Little:D kit which works quite well.

The Jimny is painted in safari-style Chiffon ivory metallic, and gets body-colored wide fender and side sill extensions instead of the narrow-body that is offered as a base-spec in Japan. The 16-inch Crimson Dean wheels enhancing the retro-flavored appearance are shod in chunky Monster Mad Warrior 235/70R16 off-road tires, while the suspension has been upgraded and offers an extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance.

Other modifications include a large metal roof rack which has enough room for an Alludoa roof tent plus extra luggage or camping equipment. Inside, there is an 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment, Focal speakers, cup holders in front of the climate vents, plus custom white leather upholstery for the seats. Unlike the EU-spec Jimny that is exclusively available as a two-seater LCV, in Japan the off-roader is still available in the original passenger version which means it can fit up to four people.

The vehicle is listed as brand new, based on a Suzuki Jimny Siera JL with delivery mileage. Under the bonnet there is a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine producing 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 96 lb-ft (130 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox with a separate low-range shifter that can get you out of difficult situations – especially in combination with the off-road-focused upgrades on the wheels and suspension.

If you live in Japan or have access to the area you can buy this Jimny from T-Style. Mind you, they are also offering Suzuki Every vans with Jimny face transplants, so their inventory has many cool cars to choose from.
